The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has issued show cause notices  under  section 5 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986 for Non- Compliance of Plastic Waste Rule, 2016 (as amended). This directive has targeted on Producer(P), Importer (I) and Brand Owner (BO) who have failed to fulfill their Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.

The initiative emphasizes CPCBs commitment to reducing environmental pollution and ensuring sustainable plastic waste management. PIBOs are encouraged to align with EPR targets.
